This privacy policy applies to the use of the OCINet website.

Protection of Privacy:

OCINet respects the privacy of our website visitors and will protect their privacy as reasonably possible, following both recognized best practices and applicable legislation.

Definition of “Personal Information”:

This Privacy Policy applies to any personal information we collect or receive from you. “Personal information” as used in this Privacy Policy refers to information about an identifiable individual that is recorded in any form (such as your name, your phone number, your postal and email address where it is not publicly available business contact information), as further defined in applicable provincial legislation.

Business contact information (including name, title or position, business name, business e-mail address, telephone number or facsimile number) provided to OCINet through forms, by email or any other means is not considered to be personal information.

Collection of Personal Information:

OCINet only uses the website to collect personal information for users of its ENITS service to submit account or modality-related request forms. Site users have the option to use email links or a contact form to send messages to OCINet. When individuals voluntarily provide any of their personal information by email to OCINet, we will use this information only for the purpose for which you have provided it. OCINet will not disclose your personal information to any third- party providers unless expressly authorized by you.

Individuals should never send personal health information in contact forms or emails to OCINet.

User Behaviour:

OCINet collects information about the activity of our site users while using the site; this information does not contain any personal identifiers and is used by OCINet to measure interest in and use of the various sections of the site, so as to improve design and navigation. To the extent that OCINet may collect IP addresses, such information is used only for the operation and security of the website and is not used to identify a specific person directly.

Cookies:

OCINet automatically collects site user information through the use of cookies, which are small text files placed on a user’s computer by a web site. Each time a user returns to the site, the information in the web site’s cookie will identify to the web site the user’s browser, with which the cookie is associated.

OCINet uses cookies only to track user behaviour, so that OCINet can make improvements to the site user experience. OCINet will not use cookies to collect the personal information of its site users, or to track a user’s activity on any other part of the Internet aside from the site. Email:

Where the OCINet website provides users with a link to email OCINet, OCINet will use the information sent to us by email only for the purposes for which it was sent. Once these purposes have been met, OCINet will permanently dispose of the email, and of any other information collected about the email sender. No personal information provided to us will be shared or exchanged with, or sold to, any third parties without your express permission, unless such provision is required by law.

Email is not a secure means of transmission. OCINet cannot guarantee the confidentiality or security of any information sent to us, or from us to you, by email while it is in transit. Individuals therefore send information to OCINet by email at their own risk. OCINet will not assume any responsibility for harm or damages that occur or that are experienced through the use of email by you or by OCINet when replying to your email.

Safeguard and Location of Personal Information:

We have implemented physical, organizational, contractual and technological security measures in an effort to protect your personal information and reduce the risk of loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, misuse or modification of your personal information. We also periodically update and review such security measures. Notwithstanding these security measures and our efforts, you acknowledge that no system or network can be entirely secured and that there are inherent risks in disclosing personal information on Web browsers and electronic devices.
